Researches carried out by this group lie in two strands. One strand is to understand the stratigraphic and structural architectures of basins and their evolutionary development in the Taiwan arc-continent collision zone. The other strand lies in the applied aspect of two categories: (1) to understand the gas-hydrate resource potential offshore SW Taiwan, and (2) to assess the potential sites for geo-sequestration of carbon dioxide. These research directions can be comprehended by the current projects carried out by this group, which are listed below.
